What to ExpectIf you and your doctor decide that day surgery is best for you, your doctor’s office will schedule a A pre-admission nurse from the Center will contact you by telephone two to three days prior to surgery. During this interview, the nurse will review your health history, medications, supplements, and what to expect the day of surgery. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions at this time. Screening tests are performed as needed. Patients having general anesthesia or intravenous sedation are required to have no food or drink after midnight and to have 24 hour adult supervision after the procedure. If you have not heard from us by the day before surgery, please contact the pre-admission nurse at (425) 899-5659. If you have a cold, acute illness, or have been exposed to a communicable disease, please contact us prior to the day of surgery at the above number. When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly admitting staff who will register you and ensure your readiness for surgery. Following your operation, you will be closely observed and gradually awakened in the Recovery Room. After awakening, you will dress and continue to rest in the Departure Lounge where a relative or friend may be with you. You will receive a snack and post-operative instructions. When a physician has considered it appropriate for you to leave, you will return to the comfort of your home to be cared for by family and/ or friends. There are no overnight facilities at Evergreen Surgical Center. In the rare event that you should require additional care, your doctor may choose to admit you to the hospital until you are ready to go home. |


While at Evergreen Surgical Center, you will be cared for by registered nurses trained in outpatient surgery. Patients having general or regional anesthesia will be evaluated by a board certified anesthesiologist.
